Taking a step back from the communicative process, we became intrigued by the possibilities of scanning the entire object and the potential for reassembling that object when sent via email to another space / participant.

BRICK represents the initial fully scanned object in this series. The method involves the printing of received images on A4 paper from the home printer and reassembling them to a brick schemata using the idiosyncrasis within the images in order to piece them together. The resultant manifestation becomes a shell or husk of the original object, a simulated brick- all surface, no depth, yet existing in real space through a combination of contemporary technology and basic handicraft. it is a trace, apparition and doppleganger in its relation to the primary thing.
